Lyrics that I wrote

For a song. I also have the music written down (heavy and dark). Comments?

Alone in the Dark

The streets are empty
Night envelops me
I look up and wonder
Is there a heaven for me

What am I here for
What if there's no reason
Why am I living
When I should've died

Drinking, playing
Laughing, crying
Sinning, praying
Living, dying

Now it's the morning
But it's still so dark
I look down and wonder
Is there a hell for me

What am I here for
What if there's no reason
Why am I living
When I should've died

We are alone in the dark
We are alone in the dark
We are alone
We are alone
We are alone
We are alone

I look at those lyrics and I think of a rock song in drop D with a melodic chorus.

These are not final. I could still add maybe a verse and change words around a little.

It's not a rock song. It's a really heavy, metal song.

That line that goes 'Now it's the morning, But it's still so dark' is pure genius.

You can bash them if you like. Register your disappointment.

they are definitely not socialist enough, i fixed them

The streets are full of workers
We envelop the night
I look up and wonder
Is there a utopia

What am I here for?
What if there's no reason
Why am I working
Exploited, I tried

Working, paying
Laughing, crying
Slaving, praying
Living, dying

Now it's the morning
Factories still dark
I look across and wonder
How to save us

What am I here for?
What if there's no reason
Why am I working
Exploited, I tried

We are alone in the dark
We are alone in the dark
We are alone
We are alone
We are alone
We are alone

No factory lights for me and for you
