have you ever broken shit
have you ever broken shit whilst headbanging solo in the comforts of your own home?
i get in moods where i am so wrapped up in the music that i have accidentally broken many things, including a chair, two lamps, table leg, and probably more stuff i can't remember
when a song hits the spot i have a tendency to stand in the centre of the room, close my eyes, headbang and air guitar to a destructive zenith
of course it depends where i am, if i am in a car then the seatbelt helps
i think it is healthy, it fills me with appreciation and wonder, it is a form of dance

can't say i've ever broken anything whilst preforming this ancient ritual but i agree with you on the whole subject. i like to scream along with the songs too..

story time
also - how about knocking shit over? i broke my laptop twice in high school when i knocked pepsi onto the keyboard (only once was metal related though)
it IS an ancient ritual; one of the greatest mysteries of humankind is our ability to keep a beat, we have been doing it since monkey days, and dancing to it. i think metal inspires a much more visceral and dynamic physical reaction to the music - hyper-classical! there is some new book comparing nietzche's views on the dyonisian with metal that i want to read, it is called 'leave those kids alone' or something (in reference to pink floyd) anyway i will buy it soon

I've smashed my head to a rocking chair and got my hair stuck to a lamp. That's about it.

Re: have you ever broken shit
they weren't serious injuries really, i was just jamming out to something or another and lost track of myself in the kitchen. i ended up bashing my head into a counter and then falling over.
on two separate occasions
on one of them, i was wasted, and had no recollection of this at all. my brother told me the story the next day, and i scoffed at him, because i seriously thought he was recalling the previous incident. sure enough, as i scoffed away, i reached to the back of my head to feel around, there was a tremendous lump right on top of my skull, haha.
actually almost the same thing happened too when i was about 17, only it was in my fellating lover's driveway, and instead of a counter, it was the hubcap of his parent's car. i put a glorious dent in that thing

When I was younger (like 13) I literally threw myself through the sheetrock in our old house twice while jaming to music.

luckily most of that happened when I was still living with my parents. the only thing i've really broken up here has been glasses.
