I just realized that my smartphone is over 6 years old now
and it still doesn't have any scratches or cracks in it.
it has no screen cover - just a $10 rubber phone case that I bought on amazon when I got it.
it's been dropped countless times. it's been rained on at sporting events.
it's had beer spilled on it. it's been dropped in the pit at metal shows.
this phone is indestructible. iphone 4s FTW!

Re: I just realized that my smartphone is over 6 years old now
the 4S is only a little over five years old though
i had my 5 for over 4 years and never used a case/screen protector, survived multiple drops and abuse without enduring any damage or scratching. i don't know how i managed it but i woke up one morning a couple months ago and it was sitting in a shallow puddle of beer. still worked but the screen was sorta fucked and i didn't feel like taking it apart to properly dry it out
i ended up buying an SE, which is the same thing as the 6S in the same casing as the 5

Ah you're right. Still though.
Seems like most people I know can't keep a phone undamaged for more than a month.

I've only got rid of 1 phone cause it broke. It wasn't really that bad but all the glass was missing from the one corner and I got tired of dealing with it.

My Galaxy S5 is not very old but still in perfect condition. I enjoy its camera and ability to make phone calls and text message. Also, its internet surfing capabilities serve me well in this period. Sometimes I watch videos on it. Also a few games. I am satisfied with this device.

Re: I just realized that my smartphone is over 6 years old now
My LG G2 has been in use for about a year and a half now. After it passed the year mark, the USB port died and it stopped charging. I ordered the part, opened my phone, and replaced it. (Man, those sockets and cables are TINY!) I'm not entirely sure what died on it, but I suspect it had to do with either cawfee entering it that week or the shitty cable I'd been using.
I like my phone. I intend to maintain it when need be. I don't think I'll get a different one for some time unless something major and irreparable (by my ability) occurs.
