you ever jam any of the state parks out north florida way
specifically paynes prairie or river rise?
i have been browsing about the southeastern parks looking for neat hikes and was surprised to discover that florida has an excellent state park system
georgia's is pretty shabby actually though it's leagues better than alabama and fucking mississippi's, which is total shit

Re: hey lummo
not those specifically but I've done a few.
this one is a nice 20 mile biking trail that goes from Tallahassee to St Marks
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tallahass ... tate_Trail
not so much a trail but used to go to the beach here - very scenic white sands.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bald_Point_State_Park
and here:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Georg ... State_Park
recently went to Wekiwa Springs State Park which has some nice trails and also the Wekiwa River which you can rent canoes and has some natural springs where you can swim.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wekiwa_Springs_State_Park
on a smaller scale, also checked out Mead Botanical Garden in Winter Park. sadly, no mead was to be found here

there are lots of trailheads and parks around where I live now that I still haven't checked out despite living here a year and half already.

Re: hey lummo
maybe you have to know the password for the mead
the tallahassee st marks trail looks intriguing also bald point. i will try to check those two out
wekiwa springs is a wee bit far for my taste unless you can personally vouch for hiking that justifies a 500-mile drive. bear in mind that your state has to compete with mountains in the other direction
