had the 4s since 2011. only replacing it because i've been having difficulty charging it lately - I think some of the pins broke which doesn't make for a stable connection.

if you had busted pins, it probably wouldn't charge at all. if the charging connection was unstable, it just needed a thorough cleaning or a new cable. that socket is prone to accumulating a lot of lint/dust if your phone spends most of its time pocketed

nah - I tried that and would periodically clean it with compressed air. none of our chargers (we have 3 + 2 car charger) would seat correctly - it would appear to connect at a slight angel and it wouldn't lock. my wifes phone didn't have this problem but her battery life was absurd - the phone would only get about 2 hours of actual use (not idle) before it would just die on you. so yeah, it was time.

in my experience, canned air didn't work because it got packed really tight into the corners. you pretty much had to dig that shit out with a toothpick

I have iphone7 for about 2,5 months now. Previously I had LG G4, it just died for no reason after 8 months, LG G2 mini worked for about 2 years, but battery wouldn't last more than 6 hours, even after I replaced it with the new one.

Last summer Tracfone sent me a brand new stick phone because the one I had been using was on the 2G network which is apparently going away (or gone). I'm pretty sure they also used that event as an opportunity to get rid of a lot of very old phones without having to pay whatever it costs to dispose of them.

Galaxy S5 serves me well had to replace a battery last year. Otherwise, runs beautifully despite not being able to upgrade past Android 6.2(?)
