Yeah it was good. Not as great as corpses or tdr but I wasn’t expecting it to be. Was it completely necessary, I don’t think so. But it’s definitely a fun 2 hours. Comes out digitally and Blu-ray/dvd on 10/15 and I’ll be purchasing it for sure.

It was just so long I had to take a couple of naps. It gave me some chills too, for instance when Pennywise bit that little girls face. Stephen King wrote some nice stories  Lots of melancholy in this one

eyes wide shut

hooooly shit. lots to unpack here. seems like a wonderful bit of cinema on class dynamics, especially between the aspirational PMC types and the real ruling class, which i think is a much clearer distinction now compared to when this came out (although maybe that's just a personal case of shedding ignorance in the intervening decades). a quality watch in the wake of the epstein denouement, complete with a stunningly close stand-in for the man himself! i wonder if kubrick had any run-ins with that world or if it's all just a bizarre concurrence.

watched el camino. i still don't think it was really necessary, but it was well-executed, basically a two-hour episode, interspersing the epilogue with new flashback sequences. lots of that trademark tension, stressful to watch but in the way that made the show enjoyable to watch. and obviously they left the door open for additional sequels, but that was apparent since the announcement given the subtitle.

I just watched most of Soylent Green since it was on TV. Unfortunately just like everyone else I already knew how it ended so there wasn't much of a climax...

It was actually a pretty enjoyable revenge flick. plus it's Steve McQueen so you can't really go wrong.

Other than a few minor plot holes I liked it. It’s definately the kind of movie where if your not a sci-fi nerd you’re going to hate it.

I watched "The Informant!" yesterday, which was ok.

The story was just barely interesting enough to tell to a large audience, and I think the producers knew this and tried to compensate for it by attempting to make it into a comedy of sorts. The only problem is the story is based on a high profile legal case that wasn't funny at all, so they ended up throwing in a lot of goofy sounding music and awkward act-outs to emphasize "This is a comedy!" It came off as kind of desperate and distracting to me. But I'm glad I stuck with it because things do get interesting toward the end.

yeah honestly it was fantastic, it's a weirdly cacophonous movie and it rarely lets up, but i think it worked out wonderfully. i don't know what the signal:noise ratio on sandler's performances is, and while i'm sure it's abysmal, he was great here.
