"Carrie" was on TV a while ago so I watched that for the first time. Good movie. They definitely got the casting right looks-wise because her eyes and facial expressions at the end are creepy as fuck. I also like how measured the suspense was. The audience it was made for apparently had an attention span that's mostly gone now.

I also work with a sexy leopard elevator named Karie who looks very similar to the main character. I'll be sure to ask her to prom and report back :santa:

I saw The Exorcist in its entirety for the first time the other day and really enjoyed it.

I didn't see this coming, but the only part of the movie that made me uncomfortable was the angiography scene :oldryan: I read that it was realistic enough that doctors sometimes used the footage as teaching material for their students up until the procedure was changed a bit.

It was also nice not knowing the ending going in, because for a lot of these classic movies it's kind of a letdown watching them already knowing how it ends just because it happens to be an iconic scene that has become referenced and spoofed over and over.

I watched "Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore" the other day because it was on TV. It's was a decent movie, but the abrupt and somewhat inconclusive ending was a bit unsettling. I also found it strange that Marin Scorsese directed it, because it's nothing like the movies he's best known for. It was worth seeing, but it's not something I plan to see again.

ESOTSM is excellent. Haven’t seen it in about 10 years. Needs a rewatch.

As mentioned in another thread I saw 12 Monkeys (somehow) for the first time recently. Awesome movie. The only issue I had with it was the romance angle toward the end, but only because it probably could have been pulled off much more convincingly.

It’s been quite a long time since I watched 12 monkeys - maybe I should give it another go.

yeah i am really bad with movies generally, my broad project of the last year or so has been to slowly catch up on the carpenter filmography. miyazaki also. making slow but steady progress on both!

prior to 2019 i think the only carpenter jawns i watched were they live and escape from new york (which rules and i want to rewatch). knocked out big trouble and the thing recently, next is gonna be assault on precinct 13

It's not a movie, but I started watching Billions in movie-length installments. It starts off pretty slow and took me a while to get the characters straight, but now that I'm a little over half way through the first season it has begun to pick up a bit more.

The highly unlikely relationships that some of the characters have is kind of annoying in the sense that it's almost too much like a soap opera, but I've managed to get past it so far. Damien Lewis also might have the most unlikable face I have ever seen on film :oldryan:

I found a download :santa: It was creepy, mysterious. Is it scifi or horror  Funnily I went cycling a day later and I lost my way in a newly developed suburb here. I had the same feeling of not being able to leave that suburb hell anymore :redneck: The kid was really good in that you would gladly strangle him yourself. I think they dubbed his voice or they altered it so that it doesn't fit the person anymore, creepy :waa:
What's missing is a set, that suburb is digital and they probably did that to represent the monotony of it. I think they could have achieved the same thing with models :bulb: Or a mix of both. That would have been more classy. And they could have added a little more horror :santa: Or maybe not and the horror is in something else than the visual :bulb: Worth a watch and for myself maybe a second watch a little later  So often I get distracted watching a movie and then forget about it, this was absorbing
