this is the same child we have had in our home since october

we passed the six-month foster-to-adopt requirement in april, which is six months after october

then there was drama with the paperwork, because social workers all have too much social for any one worker to work

then more drama

then a bit more

then the papers went to the court and the court gave us a date to come in and smile for the cameras and that date is next friday

we will not have any more children for several years, it turns out they take a great deal of time energy money and both physical and mental space

The low end tend to be kind of :oldryan:::::

Last I looked the closest one to me would have been $1800 a month for both kids. I'd have to work a 2nd full time job to afford that.

today i went to my step nephews funeral. a family friend spoke instead of a preacher which i appreciated. another close family friend who goes by the name "animal" (who is a 60 something year old biker that looks strikingly similar to santa clause) was standing around and said to no one in particular "i think he'd want a pack of cigarettes, i'll be right back." sure enough, he went and bought a pack and a lighter and placed them in his coffin.

the funeral home was small so not everyone could see who was speaking as some of us were standing in the next room. the friend giving the eulogy said "i've know jeffrey for about 15 years, and most of the time i was trying to pinch his nipples", nearly everyone laughed because they knew this hard-on bearer was goofy like that. the hard-on bearer standing next to me said "is that the preacher talking, who is that?"

i also visited my grandpa. he showed me the 1957 buick he's been working on along with his collection of something like 70 guns. he starred long into his gun safe and said "i'm going to croak one of these days, i need to sell all this shit"

it was good of you to go zim. not going to a funeral will fill you up with regret. plus you got some amusing anecdotes out of it :interessant:
