I feel like there hasn't been any good parody movies in decades. people like Jim Abrams and Mel Brooks have apparently retired and no one has picked up where they left off. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

the first ones to come to mind are more homages than straight-up parodies

the big lebowski is a delicious homage to detective films

the cabin in the woods is a great homage to / gentle fun-maker of horror movies

galaxy quest is a really goddamn good and loving send-up of science fiction

haven't seem cabin in the woods.

galaxy quest definitely qualifies as parody - I don't think lebowski does even though it's a great film.
