north korea got more and better missiles

the syrian civil war and subsequent refugee crisis worsened

heat continued

and donal t rump officially became president of the united states in title

On a personal level, uneventful thus far

every year keeps getting worse

i am certain 2017 will be my least favorite year so far

My grandmother died at 96 this year. It was crazy because she was in good health until around December and then for four months went downhill drastically. My sister who is only 3 years older than me had a heart attack earlier this month - she survived but had to get a defibrillator implant. My dad had a similar heart attack a couple years ago and now they are saying it might be genetic (they were both in good health / shake prior to). I almost don't even want to know. On. A personal note - I got passed up for promotion for the second time in a year....

There's alot of reasons to say it's worse than last year however. The amount of ignorance I've noticed this year is mind boggling. It was always there but some of the far right leaning literally flaunt it and some of the far left are utterly hypocritical/delusional, more so than usual. If it doesn't change then next year will be fucked.
