my mothers pitbull killed one of our miniature poodles

Post by droidspawn »

that big loving pit who was bleeding internally a few weeks back because of a non-cancerous tumor survived and tore the throat out of one of our poodles this morning. I was an advocate for pitbulls until this morning. if she was mine id put her fucking ass down tomorrow. i guess it happened while my mother was in the garage. she heard growling and barking and came back in and found milo in his dog bed with his neck tore open and bella the piece of shit standing over him. I had to put him in a garbage bag and take him to the vet to be cremated. she needs to put bella down but i dont know if she will. I am devastated.

milo is the smaller white one. the other one is his brother teddie. teddie was 4 years older. weve had them since they were born. bella too. i had to bring teddie to jamestown. my sisters dad is taking him for now.

do you reckon bella was especially anxious or on edge of late? acting differently? in general dogs do not do well with sudden massive change and her medical issues would certainly qualify

also did she know the poodles? had they hung out and become familiar with each others’ scents and such?

this is damn strange and terrible, i’m awfully sorry it happened :tear: putting bella down might be unnecessary though

They all 3 grew up together. Bella is 8 and milo was 10. all since they were puppies. She's been nipping at them the past few years for no reason. Before that they got along fine. The older she's gotten the worse she was with them. My sister had the poodles for the last 2 years because of this. My mother only took them back a month ago because they bark at every noise outside and would wake up my sisters baby from his naps and sleeping. She was planning on finding a home for the poodles but no one in our family would take them. I would've but my building doesn't allow pets plus with my schedule it wouldn't work.

The vet said she shouldn't be having any more pain from the surgery and the staples are already out. She's not on any meds any longer either. I'm worried she'll attack my mom next.

Pitbulls are the reason I always carry a hunting knife, I swear I'd be skinning that splendid mate of mine if that ever happened to me.

now is not the time to talk about pitbull control.

but seriously, sorry for your loss.

if my doggo did that, I'd probably have her put down - doesn't matter how much I love her - there are just some lines you cannot cross.

thanks guys.

She's taking her in for a checkup and getting the vets opinion on putting her down today :necro:

I honestly can't believe she's even considering keeping her

it really could be related to the stress of a near-fatal medical procedure. dogs act strangely all the time when their routines are disrupted

it’s still horrible and fucked. but it's not like you just bought a pit bull puppy and she did this the first night at your house, is all i’m saying

That was weeks ago though I don't think she's feeling any effects from that. But who knows really

she might not be feeling anything physically but that is hardly ever what leads dogs to strange unusual behavior in the first place
