Anyone here subscribe to Sling TV or something similar?
I was thinking of giving this a try pretty soon, even though I don't usually watch much TV. If the seven day trial had me convinced that this thing would get enough use to justify paying for it then I would probably cancel Netflix since I don't have enough spare time to get full use out of both services (I also already get HBO/Showtime for free from a fellating lover).
Anyway, anyone here use Sling or something similar? Any thoughts on it? Assuming there isn't any performance issues with it (e.g. lag) the only potential issue I noticed was the weird setup they have the service packages, where certain channels one would think would overlap between the two do not.

I got it
Ended up doing the combo package and the add on for the kids. The only thing that bothers me is when you get to the bottom of the channel guide it doesn't go back to the top. Besides that though I've had zero issues in terms of performance.

I did read that channel surfing wasn't as user friendly as it could be, but never came across anything about performance. Based on what you said it sounds like that's because issues are rare. I'll probably set up a free trial tonight. If it goes well I will cancel Netflix and burn every piece of literature I own

I started a free trial of this earlier today. I probably won't keep it just because I don't watch a whole lot of TV and I definitely prefer on demand style viewing. Besides that the other things that bug me are Roku not working all that great with it and not being able to punch in a number to get to a channel or quickly channel surf, which is my admittedly very annoying way of watching TV.

There's the my channels thing on the home screen. I just put a bunch of there and don't even use the guide really.

I've been wanting to try the 7 day trial of Sling. I barely watch regular tv as is and wanted to see if there are channels on it I don't get on cable.

I’ve had it since 2015 - got the movie and sports package which puts my bill at $35 or so. About $100 less that what I was paying with Comcast for cable. I get all the channels I want and they’ve actually added channels to the line up over time without raising rates. The user interface could be better but it’s evolving for the better. When it first started it wasn’t great but they have made improvements over time.

Re: Anyone here subscribe to Sling TV or something similar?
well thankfully I am no longer on Comcast....but through Spectrum (formerly Brighthouse) I pay $65/mo for 200mb/sec internets.
so my internet + tv bill went from $195/mo to $100/mo

Sling runs me $50. The combo package, kids channels and cloud DVR. That, netflix, hulu and just internet with fios and I'm saving about $100 a month
