Re: tax return plans
I just filed mine and I think for the first time ever I didn't owe anything. In fact I got over $3,000 back in state taxes, which I'm still thinking must be some kind of mistake. If it is then at least it was an honest one on my part (I went back and double checked everything). I know MN had a budget surplus of several billion dollars so I'll have to see if that accounts for any of this...
Other than that I got $300 back from federal and $250 back in property taxes. The property tax one would have been a lot more except I have a roommate on the lease now, and the state just assumes that he pays half the rent even though he doesn't pay any and has no income. He could technically file a return for the property tax and get almost $600 for it - which would then go to me - but I need to make sure that it wouldn't put either of us in any legal cross-hairs. But I would end up with about as much as I would have gotten had it just been me on the lease.
No plans on spending any of it. Maybe I'll pick up a sandwich later

Re: tax return plans
Had to pay off 900 dollars in taxes. Cashed out a 401 k yo pay off my truck. Wasn't a smart move. The banks took half in fees and taxes. Then the gubment said "we didn't take out enough taxes. We need more". fucked without a kiss.
200 more dollars and I'll have it paid in full.

Re: tax return plans
but $200 is only ten rest stop blowjobs
cashing out retirement plans early is a fucking shakedown though my wife did this for one of hers last year to help pay off some of the moving costs and i think we wound up getting about 40% of the balance
