7.1 headphones

am i missing a trick here, I was messing with my gaming headset and 7.1 sounds like fucking shit compared to standard stereo

also i have no fucking clue where i am being shot from in pubg and thats saying something with the shitty audio in that game.

its like 5.1 surround sound but with more numbers

the sixth channel is a rear center but i dunno what the seventh one is

anyway it's only simulated since there's only two physical channels in a pair of headphones, and thus it probably is not simulated very well

as far as headphones go stereo is the only way to fly, if you want surround sound you really need a proper home theater setup

for an extremely good pair of stereo headhones that will work without an amp and costs less than $100, i recommend the sony mdr7506

honestly i mainly play pubg and the audio engine that game is terrible so 7.1 is almost unplayable, i might as well be tracking shots from the moon
