I learned about this phenomenon, this movement last week. Mostly white people using constitutional language to claim their "right" to drive on roads without a license or without the right license plates, and shirking from simple things like filling out routine forms or having documentation. Most of the times the arguments lead to arrests and busted car windows. Pretty addictive viewing.

sovereigns are hilarious, they get into some really wild ideas about the way things work. the awesome part is because it's such a heavily right-wing movement a lot of the completely bonkers conservative conspiracy stuff has started to mix in. a former coworker and i have been following the saga of a local sovereign who's convinced that he can arrest court personnel because they're covering up for the county's child sex trafficking operation
