i did not, both times i hiked that trail i had to turn back at about the 2/3 mark because of the fading daylight. getting started too late in the day
the second time it was the fault of the people i went up with & not my own, so i can take bitter comfort from that at least
i'm not surprised by those narrow-ass stairs though. there are several other popular spots at yosemite with seriously frightening trails. the path coming back from vernal falls on the other side of the valley has no handrail or rope or any such thing & is supposed to be for two-way traffic but is only about 3/4ths of one person wide and slippery as hell when the waterfall is actually running
