Taking a muscle relaxant with alcohol

Post by Grudge »

I have just been prescribed a muscle relaxant, Flexeril. I am wondering if this is a unique opportunity for me to experience recreational drug taking by combining it with alcohol. Reading about it, it is said that it may have "opiate-like" effects, and can cause liver damage or death.

Does anyone have experience with this? How unsafe is the combination, are the negative side effects exaggerated, and is it going to make me feel great?

I can't wait to take this tonight. I mean it's my first time taking a muscle relaxant so I'm not going to take it with alcohol tonight, but I've read it feels great regardless.

Ok just took the pill. The effects are supposed to kick in after 20 minutes. Really excited about it. I don't plan on sleeping until about two and half hours so I'll get a good idea of how it feels. Will report tomorrow on my experience.

I messed up my back a while back and was prescribed Cyclobenzaprine - It worked almost too well - I only used a few pills and have it stashed away for those times when I work a little too hard (getting old sucks yo!). only downside is it causes drowsiness - made the mistake of taking one at work and had to counter it with some redbull because I seriously felt like I was gonna pass out and started slurring my words like I was drunk.

as for taking a muscle relaxant with alcohol - wouldn't recommend it. if only for your kidney's sake. at the very least plan on doing nothing that day/night because you'll probably black out.

upon googling it - cyclobenzaprine is the same thing as flexeril. "stroke me, for i wish to orgasm".

Thanks for the tip! I definitely won't be mixing this. And yeah like Zim says, I don't feel anything.

You do realize that your heart is a muscle and that your lungs work with muscles too?

Don’t be stupid.

You probably won't feel anything pleasant from a muscle relaxant unless you're actually having muscle spasms. Coincidentally I was just prescribed a muscle relaxant last week because of a lower back injury. I didn't bother taking any but I'll probably hang on to them because they're very good for sleep if you have something like a stiff neck.

I have to admit I took the muscle relaxant in the evening for 5 days and didn't feel jackshit. The problem I had before I still have, which is my left arm goes numb at various times in the day, especially noticeable when I sit down.

it could be related to how you're sitting/posture and they'll recommend physical therapy

if you don't get it checked out you could develop something like sciatica and soon it will be more than your arm going numb

So, I looked up the exercises online to self-treat, and they do infact make the numbness in my arm vanish immediately, if I do the neck exercises as soon as the numbness comes on. That doesn't mean the numbness doesn't come back, it does, but the exercises make it disappear it in a flash.

In fact, straightening up my back when seated achieves the same effect. Arm numbness immediately goes away.
