lots of rats in this city, very large, always come out more in the rainy season which just kicked in

so on saturday while walking at night a street rat bit me on the middle toe. heaps of blood. apparently yangon is in the middle of a rabies outbreak. my bite was considered category III exposure which is the worst. i wasn't vaccinated so i had to have six injections, including four one-inch deep fuckers in my arse, and then i need another three injections over the coming weeks. US$270 for the first whack, probably going to add up to about US$600 in the end.
