Updating a resume is soul draining

Post by Grudge »

It's as bad as going over your finances from years and months ago to explain to someone in authority why it was all mismanaged.

I'm doing that right now, have to get it ready for Monday morning and there are a million things I would rather be doing on my Sunday evening before work in the morning.

One thing I have stumbled upon is that PowerPoint is pretty effective, more so than Word which can cause you to lose hours to figure out formatting and placement.

I'm doing something this time around that I've never done with this before, and that is to add a Personality Attributes and Values section. It's an added section, in addition to the usual work experience, education and skills sections.

i have made a few different ones over the last few years, what i don't like about it is it is all about highlighting weird pathways that don't exist for fictitious positions that don't exist

Thank god I don't have to do that. I'm pretty clear on the type of positions I'm cut out for so I don't need to have multiple resumes. Anyway, I was able to build my resume last weekend and I think I did as good a job I could have done on it on a half-Sunday.

I needed to do this a lot since I was job-hopping around two years ago. Hope I never have to do that again. :oldryan:

resumes are easy. I always hated doing cover letters though.
