Health Scares Over the Years
I've had a few bad episodes of back spasms along with a bout of intersection syndrome (most pain I've ever been in). In those cases I was paranoid that the damage/pain was permanent, which would have meant finding a new line of work followed by a life of discomfort. Also some torn ligaments in my ankle about five years ago, but that was more a concern of if I could play certain sports going forward. Turns out I can but I'm generally too lazy to.
More recently I vomited blood after waking up feeling sick. It came up looking like motor oil so I knew it had been in my stomach for a while. From there a walk in clinic experience became an ER visit which turned into a night at the hospital so they could find out how bad the bleeding was and why it happened. Turned out the bleeding was bad but eventually stopped, but they never figured out exactly why it happened even after doing an endoscopy. All things considered it was actually a pretty funny experience - an outlook made possible by a gut feeling that nothing was seriously wrong. I actually kept asking if they were sure I even needed to be in the ER. The medical bills weren't as funny though.
All the other scares have been me stupidly wondering if some dull abdominal pain could be the onset of something serious, only to wait with extreme anxiety for it to suddenly disappear a couple days later.

Re: Health Scares Over the Years
After the most recent annual physical examination at the workplace, I was recommended for blood pressure monitoring for a few weeks as my reading during the exam was on borderline hypertension. Fortunately, my blood pressure normalized on all the follow-up tests.

I quit drinking about 2 weeks ago so I can’t fall asleep for shit. Sleeping pills aren’t even helping at this point really anymore. I assume my body has grown a tolerance for them. I had bad chest pains/tightness a few months back thinking I was maybe having a heart attack but turns out I just have bad gerd. I take Prilosec otc everyday and helps tremendously.

I have peripheral neuropathy in my feet, caused by diabetes. Left one is the worst.
My knees are shot to fuck. Can't take two steps without excruciating pain, so wear a brace.

Re: Health Scares Over the Years
Yeah but as I said, Prilosec keeps it pretty much at bay. It also happens if I eat too much too fast. Probably developed over time from all the hard drinking. It’s great I don’t even feel an urge anymore to stop at the liquor store. I Still have Jameson and whistle pig on top of the fridge and it doesn’t bother me in the slightest.arborist shrub tarkington wrote:sorry duder, never heard of this beforejorsh wrote:Source
