The Smart & Final near me is already doing this. A good idea would be setting aside 2-3 hours a day elderly and handicapped folk can shop uninterrupted.

it's been insane. we've had record sales (more than any holiday or pre-hurricane buying spree) despite being out of stock on tons of stuff. I know it sounds like I'm glad we're making money off this but honestly it will all even out - just like during hurricanes or post-holidays there will be a huge lull in sales after and depending on how long this goes on for and what restrictions are placed that might go on for quite some time. really tried to anticipate what people wanted and ordered up but honestly the distributes/growers/manufacturers got caught with their pants down with this and haven't been able to meet demand. we ordered $22K worth of produce on Sunday and had that order cut in half. Grocery ordered 2 semi's worth of product and only had a 40% fill rate. it's nuts! if people don't eat all their cache of non-perishables at least everyone will be well prepared for hurricane season this year....

and while it makes sense in a way to stalk up on some essentials - I still don't understand this toilet paper nonsense. like a 12 pack will last my wife and I at least a month if not more! yet idiots are buying several packs of these at a time!

Sadly no. Our professor announced he'd be closing the gym for at least two weeks. Longer if necessary. Better safe than sorry though.

most sane people don't work out when they're sick - gyms are such a huge germ vector to begin with, you can barely get people to wipe down equipment with a pizza napkin after they're done.....

all the gyms here voluntarily closed for next few weeks. so yeah, hope you have some weights or something at home.

Restaurants, bars and gyms will be closed as of 5pm here.

Carry out, drive thru and delivery will still be available if the business stays open. Of course no one read this and it's fucking bananas at the grocery stores.

This except we are now in home quarantine and mass transit has been stopped. There's cops and soliders in checkpoints everywhere and we got an 8-5 curfew.

I went to Total Wine on my lunch break and holy shit was it crowded. A lot of people had shopping carts completely full and I had to wait in line for about 15 minutes. I think people are worried that the liquor stores will be forced to close, but can't you order alcohol online?

As for me I'm not too worried about that because I generally drink much less once winter ends and focus more on getting back in shape.

I already can't distance myself from others because my work isn't going to shut down. Plus I'm in the lowest risk group so what do I care? If I get sick and have to stay home for a while things will almost certainly be fine for me. As for the older folks in the store? That might have been a poor choice on their part, but it's their life to live.

I understand. I was aiming at all the people going to the grocery stores, crowding them up, creating cesspools of risk getting the virus. It's so backwards and stupid :redneck:

State to state thing. I can only order booze online and go pick it up at a store. Can't have anything delivered especially out of state booze.

Did you hear Kamala Harris say she wanted to give everyone $500? She's from the bay area, which is more expensive than LA. What a joke.

State to state thing. I can only order booze online and go pick it up at a store. Can't have anything delivered especially out of state booze.

I just ordered from Nakedwines.com. I think it was six bottles for about $35. So it turns out MN allows it, which is surprising because aside from Utah we probably have the most strict alcohol laws in the U.S. Up until one or two years ago there were no sales on Sunday, and even now stores close at 6PM on that day. Also nothing over 3.2% is sold for carryout outside of liquor stores. And the concentration of liquor stores is tightly regulated, although they're generally not too hard to find.

I went to Total Wine again on my lunch break and there was about a 30 minute wait to get in because now they limit the number of customers who can be in the store at a time, and now they close at 8PM. Since I only get 30 minutes I had to scrap that plan.

I texted this to my cousin who’s a huge trumptard and it and I enjoyed it immensely.

“That is gross and such bullshit. As soon as this bullshit is done the economy and will boom back like a m.otherfucker. It’s going to be cool to watch.”

Did you hear Kamala Harris say she wanted to give everyone $500? She's from the bay area, which is more expensive than LA. What a joke.

Biden had better not pick her for his VP.

$500 a month homie

Which is still insulting. That's only 1/3 of my rent, and I know people are paying way more than that out here. Not counting other bills. Then there are the people out here with mortgages to consider. Even Mitt Romney is proposing to give people twice what she is.

Granted $500 is better than nothing, but so is a handful of rice during famine. They can do better and they know it.

We still want to. But with the way things are playing out who knows when that will be? We might be stuck in LA longer than expected.
