Still jobless, anybody got any business ideas?
2 months later I'm still jobless. Must have applied to more than a hundred jobs. Got a few interviews that went nowhere. In the last 3 weeks though I didn't do shit except play video games and collect unemployment. I'm sitting on plenty of cash to survive long time and now open to business ideas. Anybody got any ideas?

Right now I'm leaning towards something that's either a simple business that doesn't involve technology, or something that involves software development.

Get yourself a car dealership. Last month was almost back to normal for where I'm at and this month is already off to a hell of a start.

Apparently RV sales have been through the roof the last couple of months - either people wanted to go on vacations without the hotel hassle or people are hedging their bets against being homeless....
as far as business ideas, got any hobbies? Wood / metal working, aaaArt, photography, music, Streaming? A couple of my coworkers do shit on twitch in their spare time and manage to pull in a few hundred a week from donations. I don’t get it, but they’ve told me that if they could do that full time and still have affordable insurance they probably would. My wife picked up proofreading as a side gig (you have to pass a ton of tests to qualify) that pays per 500 words or something (mostly publications but I guess students can submit works as well) - right now it doesn’t pay much but if you get good And fast at it you can certainly do it full time.

There's some weird thing about not being allowed to buy one if you say you're going to live in it full time though. But maybe that's just a Maryland thing

52% of the country is single -- that's a market that's dominated by apartment rentals. let's take some of that market. i call it: single city.

I'm contemplating starting a software firm that takes on outsourced development contracts.

That’s true. All our app devt and enterprise arch teams are in india while we are pretty much the operations center of the firm.

i read the other day that there isn't much of an emphasis on tech innovation in india which is why it's still a good idea to outsource there. i wonder how things will change if/when they start putting all that man power toward innovation.
