Re: elections thread
this is such an unbelievable shitshow
for this election to be close at all is a galactic embarrassment. a rusty tuna can lid pulled out of a dead grizzly bear’s asshole should have been able to get 400 electoral votes and a senate supermajority
instead we have the ghosts of covid dead lining up to vote for their genocide mastermind
fuck the electoral college, fuck the republican party, and double fuck the comfortable conspiracy theorist twats who make up whatever percentage of the electorate it turns out is fine with this
meanwhile get my family the fuck out of here

it’s not over and biden is actually in a better place than clinton was, he may well win
but the fact that this is this close should keep america nailed to the kids’ table of world affairs for at least five or six generations

i called it for bag of diarrhea inside another, bigger bag of diarrhea a long time ago in our discord chat but it looks like it is going down to the wire and may well end up being won through judicial means

Looks like if Biden takes all the states that he currently has a lead in and Georgia flips that puts him at the 2270. Man the electoral college is tucking dumb as hell.

Re: elections thread
it is possible biden will win the EC, that is not off the cards. but he will still lose the election, do not underestimate donnie and his judiciary
but even then the absolute best you can hope for is biden winning but a republican senate, oh man that will be a shitshow. still it's the best possible scenario now
more people voted for donster, as in the number of votes, than in 2016. it is amazing

Very interesting to see Arizona go blue for the first time since 1940s.

Re: elections thread
it’s not corrupt in the sense that you mean
there were a shitload of absentee ballots this year, because many people didn’t want to vote in person, because half of americans believe in the pandemic
in many states where republicans control the state government, there are laws against counting absentee ballots early, as well as against reporting the absentee vote as it is counted. generally it gets reported all at once
this is because republicans don’t like it when lots of people vote, as they tend to lose when turnout increases. passive voter suppression like what i described above has been a part of the party playbook for generations
so in a few swing states the current president had an early lead and then after all the election day votes were counted the heavily democratic absentee vote started to get counted
for example, the current president was winning in wisconsin for most of the night. then, once the very very democrat-leaning cities of milwaukee and madison had huge chunks of their absentee vote counted, they reported those votes, and the lead changed for biden
it actually makes sense, but is both highly unusual for our elections and an extremely shit system. which system is working perfectly to republican design
and the reason a lot of people suspect something fishy is it takes a long fucking time to explain all of that

nevada is very close but with it he has the same 232 electoral votes clinton got last time
he flipped arizona (+11)
and wisconsin, which is also very close but which doesn’t have any major republican vote left to count (+10)
and michigan, where he has just taken a lead because the only place with substantial votes left to count is detroit (+16)
and nebraska’s second congressional district (+1)
232 + 11 = 243 + 10 = 253 + 16 = 269 + 1 = 270
in which case it doesn’t matter which way pennsylvania or georgia go

sard did win you nincompoop, this should have been a landslide along the lines of bush in 88 or clinton in 96
now even if biden gets pennsylvania and georgia it’ll be razor thin in a half-dozen states with no huge congressional majority to back him up

tell that to the democrats. biggest collection of total fucking losers in the history of politics, jesus fuckin' christ. they funneled $200M from out-of-staters on two races they knew were unwinnable (one of which campaigned for fucking bag of diarrhea inside another, bigger bag of diarrhea in ohio), meanwhile they didn't even run a candidate in the arkansas race and spent fucking zilch in maine where they easily could have flipped the seat. but nope! they don't want power, they'd rather work with Reasonable Republicans™ like susan fuckin' collins who VOTED TO CONFIRM FUCKING KAVANAUGH than actually govern. oh, and obama alumni are directly responsible for california's disastrous anti-worker prop 22
it is hard to overstate how catastrophically bad this election is, even if biden wins and actually takes power

I can. I haven’t trusted a poll since 2016 and never will again.
More black men, Latino woman, and LGBTQ voted for bag of diarrhea inside another, bigger bag of diarrhea this year than in 2016. I mean what the actual fuck?!?!?

well it probably didn't help that the biden campaign specifically and deliberately ignored the latino vote!
