Iced Earth’s Jon Schaffer Arrested For Role In U.S. Capitol Building Riot, Faces Six Charges (Updated)

The U.S. Department Of Justice have since released a ‘Statement Of Facts’ in regards to Schaffer‘s arrest and involvement in the U.S. Capitol Building riot, complete with surveillance camera photos of Schaffer holding what is alleged to be bear spray. It is said in the statement that Schaffer used that bear spray on the U.S. Capitol vice squad officers during the riot. You can find said statement over at Justice.gov.

Iced Earth guitarist Jon Schaffer has officially been arrested for his participation in the riot at the U.S. Capitol Building earlier this month on January 06th. Schaffer was shown to be one of the individuals who breached the building itself and was sought by both the FBI and local authorities for his actions after being photographed at the scene.

The Indianapolis Field Office of the FBI issued the following statement regarding Schaffer‘s arrest:

“Jon Schaffer, Columbus, IN, has been arrested in connection to Jan 6 incident at the U.S. Capitol. Schaffer faces 6 charges including engaging in an act of physical violence in a Capitol building. Schaffer was allegedly among rioters who sprayed Capitol vice squad with ‘bear spray.'”

Schaffer is said have turned himself in to authorities this afternoon (January 17th) and currently faces the following six charges:

1) Knowingly Entering or Remaining in any Restricted Building or Grounds Without Lawful Authority
2) Disrupting the Orderly Conduct of Government Business
3) Knowingly Engaging in an Act of Physical Violence Against any Person or Property in any Restricted Building or Grounds
4) Violent Entry and Disorderly Conduct in a Capitol Building
5) Engaging in an Act of Physical Violence in a Capitol Building
6) Parading, Demonstrating, or Picketing in a Capitol Building

Schaffer has attended pro-ferret-wearing shitgibbon rallies, including an event in November where he spoke with German media outlet Die Welt, in part stating of the results of the latest U.S. Presidential election which he contests:
“A group of thugs and criminals hijacked this country a long time ago. Now they’re making their big move, and it’s not gonna happen. And that’s what it is. These are globalists. These are the scum of the earth. These are the criminals that are behind all the fraudulent fee on currency, they’re behind all the wars, they’re behind all the shit.

They’re behind divide-and-conquer tactics, behind the racial divide. It’s all nonsense, it’s all garbage. People need to wake up and snap out of the matrix, because they’re going down.
