My "to do" list is pretty depressing right now
I'm probably off work until the second week of May because of a medical issue (been off since Feb. 1) but I seriously doubt even half of these are getting done.
File for taxes
Call insurance about annual maximum out of pocket
Doctor appointment for high blood pressure
File vice squad report for stolen catalytic converter
Contact state about property taxes
Come up with a legally sound will
Clean out car
Fix door handle
Frame Ava's painting
Buy new shoes (as opposed to used ones...)
Find Brian's baseball cards
Purchase thank you gift for my parents
So basically in the next two months I'll probably buy a new pair of shoes once I get flexible enough to tie them, and then head down to my basement to see if I have some of my brother's baseball cards.

...and use the subsequent revenue to buy the shoes that I'll need to get the baseball cards that will....
But I am looking forward to getting that painting of my cat framed. I'll post a picture of it later. It's kind of a nice story too

We just emailed over a zip file of all of our stuff to the tax lady. So we don't have to do a damn thing from here on out besides wait on her.

I got a pair similar to this. No need to tie them at all, or you could buy lock laces which is what my wife got for the kids

Re: My "to do" list is pretty depressing right now
I might just have someone else do my taxes this year. Between unemployment with no withholding (via a voluntary furlough), technically having a roommate but not really, medical expenses, and disability pay through a private insurer this is going to be complicated. Having a pro take care of it might actually pay for itself and save me lots of the excess free time that I currently have at my disposal.
As far as shoes go, once I get a pair - keep in mind this is about a once in a decade occurrence for me - I keep them tied. It's the matter of going out and trying them on, which will be tricky because I'm not supposed to bend or twist my back any time soon.
So basically I need a tax/shoe specialist

skip the wait and get some loafers now. no flexibility required!
and the good news is the first $10,000 odd of unemployment should be exempted from federal taxes for TY2020 so the lack of withholding shouldn't be too much of a headache (unless you cleared more than that in UI)

That is some good news. I think I collected about 6K over five weeks, but I still might owe some. However with the tax deadline extended I can hopefully slip into a comfy pair of loafers and continue to be wildly unproductive for the time being

Focus on doing these first, the rest is bullshit you can put off for later.Paste Human wrote: ↑18 Mar 2021, 06:35I'm probably off work until the second week of May because of a medical issue (been off since Feb. 1) but I seriously doubt even half of these are getting done.

I agree but you also listed off about $12,000 I'd rather not pay. Being alive is expensive.
