I'd personally say varying on if your a fan of the FF series or not, finish 13 first before getting another game, including GoW 3. Now if you don't 13 and not planning on getting it, you'd better be getting GoW 3. But either way, you'd be a happy camper. My roommate is playing 13 as I speak right now and he's pretty hooked on finishing it, but you'd bet your ass he's playing GoW 3 right after he's finished with it. I'd be playing it right now if I have my own PS3, money, and don't have to worry about an exam for Circuits the next day. :oldryan:

im about 3 hours and 20 minutes into this mama jama, and it's pretty much the best looking game graphically i have ever seen. I also don't think I need to mention that it is just all around badass.

Do I need to have played all the other GoW games to follow the plot in this one?

i don't think so, you might enjoy the story more if you already have the background and such, but the games are fun as hell even if you don't get invested in the plot. here's a radically condensed, spoiler-free synopsis of the plot thus far, which should get you sufficiently up to speed to play any entry in the series:

kratos makes a deal with ares and it doesn't go so well. kratos is mad as hell, so he kills the shit out of a bunch of monsters and also some notable members of the greek pantheon.

in god of war 3, you can expect more mad as hell, more monsters, and more gods and other assorted mythological thingers, all meeting the business-end of your fancy chain-blades and other assorted weapons. you can expect to have just ridiculous amounts of fun as you introduce said creatures to those various business-ends.

check the wikipedia entries for the first 2 games, or just pick up the Gow collection, every title in the series is superb & worth playing through.

I just finished the game and watched all the unlockable videos. It.is.awesome. Downloading the 70 minutes documentary on the series now.

I'm sad the series is over.

so long as the brand itself is profitable, you can bet it won't be going away anytime soon. worst case scenario, some other studio will take over development and the current GoW studio will move on to new properties. i don't care how they ended the series as it stands now, sony will find a way to extract more money from it. count on it!

The trilogy is over, but the franchise isn't....also did you wait until after the credits? If not, do so....Also, it's convenient how

*spoiler* we just kinda forget about half the titans, like the lava one and the blue one *end spoiler-ish thing*

There's still some places to go with the franchise and character.

Also, how long did you spend hitting O at the end before you just stopped? I thought that was pretty cool, how it literally put you in Mr. K's head. I was amped through the whole game, until I saw the end, it kinda takes the words out of your mouth....kinda depressing. Brilliant series.

Yeah waited like 20 fucking minutes for those damn credits to be over and seen it. At the end, I did keep hitting O, I was like seriously dude, hes dead, then my finger got tired :redneck:

well, i think that was the point, because you think about it, kratos is gonna sit there and keep pounding until he gets tired, and so you do, kinda ingenious really...I think so anyway.

I thought about the reason behind it afterwards and it makes a lot of sense actually and is pretty neat.

looks like something new is in the works! If you get the platinum trophy, you are given this link: http://www.godofwar.com/spartansstandtall/ Which may remind one a little bit of the end...I'm very curious as to where the franchise will go next.

I borrowed this game yesterday. I am currently making my way through the realm of Hades. I can't see any way that I'd purchase it, to be honest. I like to get a longer playable life out of my games, which is why I gravitate to strategy, RPG and persistent FPS games.
