procrastination is very common in college. I've been doing that way too much this semester. Especially for my engineering classes. :oldryan:

Yeah, it's 101. You'd think that, being the oldest (25), I'd have a longer attention span than most of the class. Nnnotsomuch.

i was shocked to not be the oldest in any of my classes when i first started going back (23-24 at the time). it was a community college in a fairly densely populated area though, so there were a lot of 30/40/50 year old folk that attended.

102 in general i thought was a lot easier to be interested in though, especially the lab. getting to dissect things is loads more engaging than the fluff you have to do in 101

i was so much more studious back then, i've become really lax about showing up to class and being productive while i'm there the past couple semesters :oldryan:

Yeah, kinda the same story. I was a 4.0 student for the longest time, and then wham...got lazy.

haha, same here. i had a 4.0 for 4 semesters, that trend took a pretty sharp nosedive though for the same reason. i was on the road to recovering this semester, but then my car died and i missed about three weeks of class, oops. ah well, maybe next time!

For me, if I miss just one class, I'm pretty well done for the semester. It's like well...I'm so sleepy, I can miss it just one more time.

what really killed it for me was taking a 10AM class that didn't have required attendance. i stopped going except for exams after the first week, which didn't work out very well :oldryan:

I don't have any class that has required attendance. Big mistake. I've became pretty fucking lazy this last year, and it's been kicking my ass.

Have they started using these iClicker things where you go? They use those here, which means required attendance for those classes that use them.

I actually don't know if my University has those honestly. But I believe my community college started those.

Basically, all the profs use powerpoint for lecturing now (apparently), and they have these things set up so they can ask you a multiple choice question and the students use the iClicker to answer anonymously. But somehow they can also take attendance based on serial numbers, or some such rubbish.
