Obituary / Kreator - Tampa, FL

Post by Mesarthim »

I went and saw Obituary and Kreator in Tampa on Sunday. It was an awesome concert, despite the fact that I got delayed 2 hours by traffic on the way there and missed the opening bands. Walked in just as Obituary was taking the stage.

unfortunately , the lighting was terrible during Obituary's set - so it was hard to get any good pictures. suffice to say, playing to a home town crowd, people went absolutely insane while they were on stage. you could tell as the band fed off the crowd's energy and even put up with all the crowd surfers and stage divers that they were enjoying the hell out of this gig.

and lastly, Kreator came and conquered. last time I saw these dudes was when they toured with Vader in...2005? nevertheless, they played an intense 90+ minute set of thrash classics mixed with their newer material. talk about bands that have aged well - if you had to guess you would think they were still in their late 20's. highly recommend catching this tour if you get a chance.

I'm going to the leg of this tour in cleveland, but I'm mostly going for Midnight and Horrendous, don't care for the headliners much as I've already seen them twice. Also in 2005 with Vader.

In my opinion Kreator have only gotten better over the years and obituary is still obituary - plowing though crushing riffs while still showing that you don't have to be fast and fruital to still be heavy as fuck. :santa:
