I want to have a pet some day. But it's the taking care of the pet and training part that I'm not suitably prepared for.

Honestly, you've gotten me interested in getting one of these. They sound pretty cool and look beautiful.

If you don't have any cats now then get two the same time. It is better for both of them and basically keeping two is as easy as one.

How long do cats/dogs live on average?

Cats up to 20 years, Dogs smaller usually live a bit longer, I know few 17 year old who are still in good shape. But average, I would say 12.

yep two is the way forward.

they just have little character quirks that crease me up, the boy talks with you, wakes me up in the morning sometimes licking my ear and pawing at my neck, the sexy leopard elevator get under the duvet and curls up against my stomache, they climb like motherfucking monkeys and backflip like little hairy russian gymnasts.

They both like to play fetch with various toys, and are constantly brining toys to your feet and asking you to play with them...and as you've seen from the pics they lay around in opportune places showing epic belly fluffs.

I could go on for paragraphs...get two now!

they basically have free run of the entire house, except the kitchen at night which has proved to be a party location for them in the past :oldryan:

those cats just look mischievous to me, as if they are plotting on you every second.

Re: MABB Pet pics

they are very mischevious, i often find food pouches hooked out of the box and attacked in cold blood. and the reason we shut the kitchen at night is cos one night we were woken at 4am with an almighty crash and found Aitor (the boy) covered in the remnants of a beef stew we'd left on the hob, so we were both showering and shampooing an oily, beefy covered mischevious moggy.

socks go missing to be discovered in thier climbing tree thingy, Amaia (the sexy leopard elevator) goes behind the tv and switches it off from the four way plug..then waits a minute and switches it back on..

like i say there's not a day goes by without some sort of cheeky adventure.

Average size fully grown is a little under 9 feet (2.5 meters) long, but they can get nearly 10 feet (3 meters). Max weight is 90 kg, but usually they'll get about half that. Given that this one eats more than any water monitor that the hard-on bearer at the reptile shop has ever seen (2 small mice and 12 crickets, in one sitting; and he's under 3 months old), there's a really good chance he'll get enormous. The fact that his cage is enormous for him will also help, because they tend to grow to the size of their cage. It does take about 5-10 years to reach full size though.

Check this badass out:
It's kind of cute.
Yep, he's a cutie pie. :)

When I started doing his voice, it just came out in this deep Spanish accent, which is why his middle name is Ricardo Montelban.

Water monitors aren't particularly aggressive, and aren't known for biting anyone. Plus I've got a machete in the room for just such an occasion. :redneck:

Once, in some Physiology lab, I had to crack open the chest of a frog and attach electrodes to it's heart, and then do EXPERIMENTS and stuff.

This is Morbid although nowadays we call her Morbie. She has been very sick as a kitten hence why she is so small. She'll be 16 in april which I hope she will make. Last week we found out she suffers from kidney failure... I hope the new diet and medication will keep her around a while longer. But she's not well :frown:

I've seen her birth and she's been around me ever since.
