The packaging is top notch though. So its really hard for the books to get fucked up in the shipping process.

I just ordered a couple issues of All New Wolverine. I am not really impressed with the All New Marvel launch, but X23 as Wolverine was a good idea.

It seems like marvel is just rebooting every couple of months. Everything that comes out is an all new all different #1.

DC is about to do a rebirth event which resets everything back to a #1 except for action and detective comics going back to legacy numbering. So we should be seeing a 1000th issue of both in the near future.

Marvel was resetting their numbering a lot but they weren't reboots in that the continuity never changed. Last fall they did a big Secret Wars event and it smashed all the multiverse together, then they did a pick and choose from different universes and started up the "All New" universe from that.

Didn't DC just fucking do one or two of those?

All that renumbering shit is making a clusterfuck of things. I don't even read anything new from marvel currently. Just going back and picking up trades from pre civil war.

New 52 happened towards the end of 2011 :Santa:

pre Civil War was great. That last big Wolverine arc where he was turned into a Hydra agent was one of my favorites.

52 was just a few years ago then. Seems like a bit too often to me.

There's a bit more info floating around on the rebirth event. I read somewhere to that DC was gonna move away from universe wide events and instead do events within a group. Like the death of the family event in the batman world.

Too many crossovers spoils the ability for a book to develop with its own stories.... and rehashing crossovers is even dumber.

Fucking right. I'd like there to only be 2 big universe wide events a year. Quality comics are fucking quality

Man, when I was a regular Wolverine reader, these tie ins screwed the book up. You had this great small chain of storylines and then BOOM the House of M tie in, which made no fucking sense if you were just reading Wolvie, some scattered shit, Civil War which was lame in Wolverine, and then that lupine nonsense I just said fuck it and stopped.

Re: Comic Haul

Yeah and of course it runs in continuity with the character so you HAVE to read a bunch of other shit to figure out what the fuck is going on.

The art style is meh (great layouts, though) but the writing is neat on All New Wolverine.
