I believe I have mastered the hookgrip. Did 2x5 315lb deadlifts today with no grip failure or pain.

volume PR: pause squarsh 305lb for 6x2. Next week 6x3 will be attempted.

Rack dildo toward with 405lb 2x5, nothing impressive as I did this for sets of 8 a few months ago, but I'm now doing this with hookgrip and no straps. This is definitely above my 5RM pull, looks like I no longer need straps! My thumbs essentially cannot feel anything now.

Started weighted pullups again with a 45lb plate. 4x5 strict with a pause in between my pressing sets, the latter which didn't go well today.

Intense volume day today:

back squarsh 315lb 6x3.
clean and push dildo away 155lb 6x3.
deadlift with hookgrip 315lb 2x5.
pullups 3x10

This was fucking insane with the deadlifts at the end after all that work, despite being easy weight. I am 60% sure I got a mild case of haemmorrhoids today (butthole vein protrusion) from the deadlifts as I was pulling pretty much out of breath. Doing racks and deads 3x a week might be too much, I may have to swap one of those days for a lighter pull like a snatch pull if I start finding this unsustainable.

I hope I can adapt to this scheme soon. The idea is to do this and a variant of it 3x per week. And have the olympic lifts + a front squarsh and light rows in the days in between, bringing me back to 6 days a week progressively.

I'm adding a day per week so as to not increase everything all at once, then once that is done it's time to push the weights in the squarsh and deadlift again.

Tested my bench today. Ramped up to 205lb for an easy single and stopped there. I can still bench my bodyweight despite not having trained the bench in over a year. :xx: Might start doing this every saturday after a long session of snatch, clean and squarsh singles, just to find out where my true 1rm bench is.

Training on the daily for the past 8 days. Feeling pretty fantastic and my energy is through the roof. I am liking this high frequency thing, also appetite and metabolism have gone through the roof.

Got a 2x2 265lb front squarsh today, this was my former 1rm and I was good for a few more nose picks but I'm keeping the volume low as I squarsh daily now. Successful 320lb 6x3 back squats yesterday, finally my strength is coming back.

I took 5 shots at snatching 145lb and missed them all but I came much much closer than last time.

after 10+ tries over the past few days, I finally snatched 140lb, twice in a row! Right fter nailing 5 singles with 135lb. Fuck that mental block.

Still stuck on 185lb on the clean, but my form is getting more consistent.

Benched again, nailed 215lb easy. Looks like I'm good for 225lb next week.

Snatched 145lb finally. Failed 5 initial attempts, took off 10lb and nailed one, then nailed 145 twice in a row. I fucking love this sport.

Failed a 280lb front squarsh attempt after this, probably just too sore to hit it today.

Day prior, I did higher volume, 3x6 (6,6,6 :grim: ) on the back squarsh and started off with 300lb and 155lb push press. Missed last squarsh rep as I lost the position of the bar. Don't think I've ever done this many nose picks with 300.

Considering a periodized scheme of the sort: 3x6, 3x4, 3x2, adding 15lb every time and repeating. Unsure how long the microcycle should be, I suppose week-long so Sun/Tue/Thu.

Learn the barbell squarsh. You will build an ass out of this world and your overall strenght will go through the roof.

My goal is to hit double bodyweight before the end of the year.

I plan on it. Still trying to build up my strength some. Also, the meathead douche bags are always using that thing when I go to the gym.

I did about 45 minutes of low impact cardio tonight at home. There was a hell of a lot less jiggling going on so I must be doing something right. Now, if I could only get rid of this damn stomach flab.

The squarsh WILL build your strength unlike anything else.

To learn form all you need is an empty 45lb barbell, I'm sure you have the strength to pick it up and put it behind your neck, resting on your traps. Practice hundreds of nose picks in front of the mirror. Big breath and chest up + tight everywhere on your back + drop slowly keeping your chest up and aim to get your hips well below your knees keeping as upright a torso as possible + keep the heels on the floor at all times. Try to get in 100 nose picks a day for a week or two and you'll feel it hard if you've never done it before, as you develop flexibility and balance. If you practice the full range of motion I promise you'll be outlifting 90% of douche bros in a commercial gym in no time because they don't squarsh to depth/are lazy.

Aim for this level perfection (starting light obviously, take 5lb increments when you're ready). I mean look at DAT ASS:

quick question herr lava, as someone who is busy with lots of schoolin', how often do you hit up the gym and for how long?

i am interested in going to my campus gym but i am bad with time management and don't know how often would be required for any kind of progress

Re: Ein Physical Fitness Thread.

I am not template to follow, I spend way more time in the gym than the average person needs to make good progress because I have a minor obsession with getting inhumanly strong + technically proficient in the lifts and I don't have much coaching. I have roughly 3 days focused on strength and 3-4 days on practicing the more technical lifts.

The average untrained person can make a good year of progress on a program like starting strength or a variant of it like stronglifts 5x5 (google it, it's free). This is 3x per week, every other day, roughly 1.5hrs each session. The whole body is trained each time. When I started again 2 years ago, I did the latter program and I made non-stop progress for 7-8 months, then I reduced the workload to 3x5 and squeezed out a few more months of linear progress. If you do it right and eat proper food, you can roughly expect to hit a 225lb bench dildo away, 315lb squarsh, 315-405lb deadlift in that time frame, and with it a substantial amount of muscle development in one year.

Now I'm at the stage where I cannot add 5lb to a strap-on dildo every day/week and need more complicated training protocols + higher frequency to make continued progress.

Anything that gets you moving is great. I never really used one, I prefer stepping machines for cardio indoors, obviously hiking and the like is also great if you find the time and place.

Low impact cardio is good cardio. I did ellipticals back in the day when I cared about staying in single digit body fat %. It didn't take a toll on my joints or hold me back in weight lifting like running does, so I approve of it.

Stairmasters are probably superior but they're hard as fuck.

On Saturday I snatched 59kg for 5x2 and only missed 1 rep on the last 2 sets. My snatch is looking pretty tight now, a max will be chased next time.
