We're further down the covid road than the USA and contact sports are only allowed for kids until the age of 12 or 18 (not 100% sure) but other than this we're probably going to have to wait until September.
Our gym also has crossfit and weightlifting classes that we can join with our fight/bjj subscription. So at least I can keep paying my monthly fee and go there for PE. And also to keep seeing the people there, which is awesome.
I just can't wait for jiu jitsu to start again.... I miss it so much.
Good that you still have alternatives. BJJ is frustrating because you need another person to train with. There are some drilling techniques you can work on by yourself, but it's not the same.
i have obeyed the will of the machine for ten days now. additionally i have had no alcohol since friday night. i am able to spend a half-mile of my 2-mile daily jaunt on running instead of walking. i have been rewarded with a reduction in weight to the tune of four pounds. all hail the machine
i am coming off a high peak at 174 (my baseline 6 months ago was ~165 and i normally fluctuate +/- 2-3 from that), and normally it doesn't take much to come down a bit from a peak. remains to be seen what the next couple weeks have in store, but my gut says the rate of loss will probably taper back significantly. which i'm fine with, as long as it continues to move in the right direction
i am not giving it up either but i have been drunk for most of the last 3 months ever since i started working mainly from home adjustments are necessary
Gyms are probably closed for another month here but I'm still progressing in a lot of ways, the only movements I'm missing significantly are squarsh and deadlift variations for hamstrings/back.
I'm unsure what the set up will be when we eventually return to gyms but if I'm limited to an hour a few times a week I'll likely still keep a lot of my training home based.
Major gyms here are going bankrupt, including the one I had membership in. Given this and the ongoing pandemic, I do not foresee myself going to a gym for at least two years. I will work out at home.
there was a local gym a couple towns over that was illegally reopening during the height of the pandemic. the town shut off their utilities and fined the shit out of them, but they still kept letting people come and work out in the dark. i guess they were probably angling to make a splash in conservative media and hit it big on a gofundme or something, anyway everyone's fucking stupid and this pandemic is never going away in the US
i was consistently doing about 3 miles a day until the last week or so, i think i might have developed plantar fasciitis in my left foot. anyone know about that shit? it was fucking hurting in the morning and i could feel it throughout the day. stopped the walks for about a week and it hasn't been as bad.
The brits are TOO FAT and Boris shows how it's done. The great thing about going for a run at the beginning of the day is that nothing could be worse for the rest of the day
92.8 to 91 now. Working out at the gym with a program at least 3 days a week. Gotta lose some more fat around the waiste and build up muscle. Working on stability and flexibility now as well. Burn fat and build muscle, which will in turn cause my body weight to increase again which is fine.
