I walked a lot the last two weeks, maybe I can make this a thing

started going to the gym again a few weeks ago - 2-3 times a week. it's been so long since I've really done this kind of workout that I had to start pretty low on a lot of machines (20-50lbs depending on the workout). I can knock out a good hour on the treadmill, bike, or elliptical no problemo but weights are gonna take a while to build up.

yeah i try to do 5ish miles a day walking. been difficult the last week or two on account of the weather being extremely inhospitable. but i have been pretty consistent with it, along with a lot of dietary adjustments and mostly giving up drinking. i have lost close to 25lbs so far this year

yeah i had to cut back dramatically. ill still have a cocktail or a beer or whatever if i go out, and if i'm staying in on a saturday night i might do one big boy beer or something, but regular consumption had to go. too many downsides that have gotten much worse as i've aged, so i had to adjust. 40 has been a strange year

yeah i understand all of that, it's pretty shit. regular drinking at home basically has to be cut in order to remain healthy into old age. i am still learning that the hard way.
i hit that cliff at 35 and am still managing it, trying to get into a sustainable groove. i can't give up home drinking full stop so i've been experimenting with ........... everything else

yeah they stuck you with the plastic jug booze that they probably pay $5 a handle for on wholesale. there's no point to even differentiating them as 'tequila' or 'rum' or 'gin' or whatever because they all taste like rubbing alcohol and pairing them with mixers you traditionally put those things in does nothing to change it

fucked up my footing on a step ladder and slipped, landed on the side of my foot. pretty painful to put weight on and a little swollen. think i'll go for an xray on monday

my running pace is about 5m/1k, it has always been that way since i started jogging twenty years ago, whether i am fat or not, i like it. a 45 minute album is basically a solid workout
