You seriously should check out descent and talisman if you like hero quest. If I had to recommend one over the other I'd go with descent just because I've logged a bunch of hours in it.
If you want a big time and money sink get shadows of brimstone. The base game is like $85 and requires you to paint miniatures. That being said the game is fun as shit if you've got a rich fellating lover who's bored.

i almost bought pandemic some time ago, it looked interesting
however then we had a baby
but: the future!

You need at least 3 people to play it cause the jobs you get assigned are a big help when it comes to winning. The expansions make a hard game even harder which is most sexcellent
. I got pandemic Iberia for christ on a stick day but haven't jammed it yet

There's an Oregon trail game too that I picked up on a whim. That game is silly and fun as all what. Totally worth the $10 or so I paid for it.

No idea on that one. I've been really close to buying power grid a few times but always end up snaring other stuff.

I enjoy these.
I have Pandemic, the way to make is okay for two players is to have two roles each.
My favourite is Agricola

Hey Sade
So you like resource management games? I think the only one I play like that is terra mystica

It's the only one I've got but also the only one I've managed to convince my girlfriend to play more than once. We play others like Ticket to Ride, Pandemic and Bohnanza, I've got Carcassonne on the way but I try not to push the deeper games.
I've seen Brass on kickstarter, looks incredible so I think I'll get that. How about you, what are your favourites? Any suggestions for accessible games that are best for 2 players but also up to say 4?

Chartered: The Golden Age is a historic and economic building game known for its easy game system.
You are a merchant, looking to profit from the budding trade in Amsterdam in the 1600s and participate in the growth of a multitude of chartered enterprises. Several European nations are vying for the lucrative trade in spices and other goods. The goods brought back to Amsterdam at great peril and cost are rapidly growing merchant wealth and increasing trade. To increase working capital and spread risk, you and other merchants use stocks for the first time in history.
You are establishing your first warehouses in Amsterdam, contributing to the city that will grow to become the wealthiest city in the western world. You can become the best merchant, build chartered enterprises and purchase stock to profit from their expected growth. Your goal? Profit and wealth.
Players buy building cards to found chartered enterprises and purchase stock in them. Throughout the game they expand these enterprises, increasing their stock value and ultimately increasing players’ wealth. Enterprises merge to accelerate their growth and add floors to their warehouses to easily gain value. Players will aim to block enterprises they don't have stocks in but might be forced to help them grow. Buy the right stocks and build the right warehouses to put you on your way to profit and to victory.
