i actually don't know anything about board games and couldn't get anyone at work to help pick or agree on what to start with so i gave up

Not a board game but I enjoy exploding kittens with the woman. The object is to not find the exploding kitten when you draw a card form the deck. Its kinda neat since the hand toir dealt comes with defuse cards, view cards, shiffle cards, and you can even make the opposing player hand over cards from their own hand.
