Trey's Guitar Collection
just realized trey has a shit load of guitars.
my observations and knowledge of what he has(had)
BC Rich ironbird (instaGIB)
BC Rich ironbird w/maple neck/fb
Gibson V w/FR
Hamer V
Charvel explorer
Charvel model 5FX
Ibanez UV7bk
Ibanez RG550
Ibanez UV777 with royal blue rg7620 hardware and neck on it
Ibanez RG7620 w/roland synthenizer (anyone know the exact model?)
Ibanez RG7420 magenta!!
Ibanez RG7620 Royal Blue? w/uv777 neck and hardware on it
Charvel 375XL? blue
Dean X-CORE
Dean ASTRO-X
Charvel Star
Jackson WRXT w/various mods
Ibanez UV77GR!!!!!!
theres a couple old vids online of him playing a flying v which looks to be a washburn
i guess you could say trey is one lucky little shit to have(had) all of these incredible guitars
... theres a picture of trey floating around the web of him in what looks like alters/blessed era playing a unidentified black guitar which looks to be a ironbird. anyone know? it definately is neckthrough with a reverse headstock but other than that its hard to say...I think it might be maybe one of richards warlocks or somthing?

Wasn't that Astro-X guitar a Charvel star? And I don't think he has that many RG7's. Also the UV7 isn't UV7GR but UV7BK, me and uni777 own one.

Re: Trey's Guitar Collection
yeah when he referred to "stratocaster" he is talking about his orange ibanez RG550. wonder he only got it for 250 since theres anywhere from 500 to about 1200 but sometimes they get pretty low (450) but 250 is a great deal!!

Re: Trey's Guitar Collection
The charvel star is a parts guitar. Not a Charvel body and a neck from a 375 soloist type. In 89 he had a black star as backup. I think it is also featured at the end of the Blessed clip. On one of the 91 festval gigs (the angel of disease bootleg) he had a white gibson v as backup behind him. He also has a BC Rich zombie on one of the pics of his house. He played a - i believe- Washburn RR type guitar during that 86 resort gig. And there are pics of that weird V type guitar in the booklet of the beginning. Add to that a SG in the early days. Ofcourse he played the yellow Mike davies warrior.

In the Where the Slime Live video he has a green volume knob, and a black tone knob, both plastic ones - before they were replaced by those metal ones. I'm not sure if he ever bought it second hand or new, and when second hand if it came with both original knobs. You can still purchase them.

I knew Trey was a big Nocturnus fan, but I didn't know that he actually considered Mike Davis for the second guitarist position in MA. His rhythm style apparently didn't fit the bill, but it could've been an interesting combination.

Yeah and too bad he never played with a drummer who could match his skills. I was listening to The Key last night and it just stuck to me how uneven that album is. I really like it for what it is. But listening to it me made me very happy that Pete is playing on all those Morbid Angel albums instead of Mike Browning. I like Mike's voice though.

Not a Charvel star. This is a separate japanese neck and aftermarket body. The neck comes of a strat/soloist like i said before.
There were no japanese stars. And the Charvel toothpaste logo was only on the later bunch of the old japanes production.

i know at one point he had a red RG similar to that 7420 that was a 6-stringer. not sure on the model, possibly a 570? i've never seen it used for anything, probably just a beater or emergency backup or something.

How did you come to the conclusion this is a RG7420? It has a LoPro instead of TRS trem. The color is called Vampire Kiss and was only released on the RG7620. This is not the Magenta Crush one.

Who rang...?
Covenant is Gibby explorer one side, Charvel on the other. Both double tracked. He did not specify the 7string tracks.
@ Lavagod. The red Gibby explorer is in a couple of youtube vids. There is short one with just a solo. It is completely red not cherry trancelucent as the regular red ones.

About that White V, It was behind him on stage, and of that there were some pics in fanzine's at the time. Nothing digital and i doubt if i still have that issue.

But good bet he was using the green dot UV7BK, right? That's the only one I ever saw him photographed with in those days. Always said he swore by the UV series and the models available were fairly limited. I've never seen him play the white pyramid one (I think Rutan has one) or even the loch ness green one, though we've seen pics of that one in his collection.
