This thread took an enjoyable turn.

I take it that was directed at me Verbal?

It seems that with my terribly limited intellect, I have managed to steer off the correct path here and ended up upsetting you.

I thought the title of this thread was 'best MA album'.

But then again I can barely read.

Perhaps you should haul the original poster over the coals for not calling it 'best MA album in 5 or less words with no inane fucking fluff you bunch of fucksticks.'

As much of a fucking idiot as I clearly am for daring to write a few sentences regarding how I feel about one of my favourite bands, I was under the impression that 'forum' loosely implies that you can write what you want?

Could you please get back to me and clarify this point?

Also, I wonder if you'd like to tell me more about how you judge me to be fucking idiot? I wonder what you have done with your life to put you in a position to cast such judgements over someone you have never even spoken with?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Stuart.

And furthermore, while you've (admittedly) put me in a poor mood:

It's pretty easy to talk like a hard man sitting behind your fucking computer, isn't it?

Well this thread certainly turned sour quick :redneck:

Up until a few years ago I would've said Formulas, as I did repeatedly on 2.0 and prior.

Nowadays though I must go with Altars. Spectacular collection of meisterwerk.

my favorite is gateways but i dont know if its their best. the best--the one that's the most indicative of morbid angel--is either formulas or altars

Interesting choice, one thing that has never changed in my taste is my lack of taste for Gateways. By far the least enjoyable MA album for me personally.

I do agree with the Altars/Formulas argument though.

I bounce between Covenant and Formulas, but if Heretic had good production, it would probably have been that.

Gateways used to be my favourite but i think i burnt myself out on it now. It was like the album that made me stand to attention after hearing altars first (being very impressed with that one of course as well).

My previous dislike for Blessed is being replaced by an appreciation of the virtuosity on display. Musically deeper than it initially sounds and yet still very catchy.

So I'm gonna go with Blessed in this period :greenie:

And this. For so long I believed Heretic sounded good just the way it was. Now I'm not so sure. Because material wise it's some of Trey's strongest stuff, but with that production it just comes across as meh.

It was mainly an issue I had with the production on Blessed. Too clean and kinda dead sounding, but now I rather dig it. What's helped is a new found appreciation for old school death metal as of recently. Jamming Incantation - Onward to Golgotha and some Timeghoul :xx:
