They need someone able of both speed and groove. Frost would be too one dimensional I think.
As for the guitarist position, I think Gene from angelcorpse would be the best fit. Seems busy these days though.

Re: TREY AND STEVE WORKING TOGETHER FOR NEXT MA
This crakced me up:
Founding guitarist Trey Azagthoth announced today that he is parting ways with death metal titans Morbid Angel. The news follows in the wake of the dissolution of the current lineup, with bassist/vocalist David Vincent, drummer Tim Yeung, and guitarist Destructhor all dismissed by Azagthoth. Now the only continuous member in Morbid Angel’s nearly 30-year run plans to depart as well.
“The situation in the band has become untenable, with musical and financial considerations remaining unresolved. I can no longer commit to participating and performing in this fashion,” stated Trey, “I wish [returning bassist/vocalist] Steve Tucker the best with Morbid Angel, and I am looking forward to new endeavors of my own.”
At press time, sole remaining member Steve Tucker is sitting in front of his computer with a stunned expression and his mouth hanging open.

Mike Browning Rejoins Morbid Angel, Announces Split With Band

Former Morbid Angel drummer and vocalist Mike Browning has rejoined and since left Morbid Angel, according to a press release earlier today. Browning’s lasting contribution to the death metal group was his appearance on the band’s shelved first album, Abominations of Desolation, which was subsequently released after Altars of Madness.
“It was really great to be back in the fold for 10 hours,” stated the drummer, “but it was clear that financial and creative differences were untenable, and I cannot participate in Morbid Angel any longer.”
In a dispatch from the Morbid Angel camp, Trey Azagthoth said, “We really appreciate Mike’s efforts in the band, and we hope that he finds success in his future endeavors.”
At press time, former drummer Wayne Hartsell was spotted heading into Morbid Angel’s studio for an audition

Several years ago I heard a rather long radio interview he did in the early 2000's - couldn't find it on youtube - but I do not remember any kind of a southern drawl. He doesn't seem to have it here either:
Will the next album have redneck growls?

I hate the way the bitch conducting this interview asks Trey a question (one that has been asked a million times before), he has the decency to answer and then she mocks him. She hasn't a clue and her childish cussing has hurt my ears.
Anyway, My ideal situation for MA (my own personal desire) would be that Steve Tucker and Trey would focus on getting a new album out. However that some agreement would be made where Vincent would come back for a reunion tour every once in a while..particularly for festivals etc. I'm going to suggest this and see how far it goes..

He just got done touring with them on their "classic" material for over ten years. We've all had our fill. He doesn't need to do anything else with MA.

We need to take into account the younger music fans who could be discovering MA in later years. I've been at festivals where shit washed up hair metal bands are still going in their 60's, 70's. There's no reason MA shouldn't do the same. A reunion every few years would be ideal

I would agree if you were posting that in 2003, but Morbid Angel toured the David Vincent era material into the ground for over ten years. Enough already.

Re: TREY AND STEVE WORKING TOGETHER FOR NEXT MA
There's ALWAYS going to be people making good music. Unless ISIS or whatever they call themselves these days take over the world or some shit. Every industry evolves, for better or worse. If you're sick of genres turning into piles of turd due to "kool kid syndrome" or lack of interesting material listen to soundtracks or something, there's COUNTLESS amounts of interesting ones out there, regenerated death and old (mainly old)...That is, if you really like music and arn't an elitist or snob. Depends what you want to get out of music. Can always make your own. Also, I suspect you're someone.
A mate keeps complaining about any regenerated death music that dosn't fit his standards - Iron Maiden & Queen are gods ect. ect. Unfortunatly he's missing out on so much interesting material due to not giving it a real chance. Listen vs hear ect. ect.
No worries.
