There's ALWAYS going to be people making good music. Unless ISIS or whatever they call themselves these days take over the world or some shit. Every industry evolves, for better or worse. If you're sick of genres turning into piles of turd due to "kool kid syndrome" or lack of interesting material listen to soundtracks or something, there's COUNTLESS amounts of interesting ones out there, regenerated death and old (mainly old)...That is, if you really like music and arn't an elitist or snob. Depends what you want to get out of music. Can always make your own. Also, I suspect you're someone.

A mate keeps complaining about any regenerated death music that dosn't fit his standards - Iron Maiden & Queen are gods ect. ect. Unfortunatly he's missing out on so much interesting material due to not giving it a real chance. Listen vs hear ect. ect.

No worries.

Agreed and fair enough. I just wish I was born twenty years earlier for cultural reasons.   There may always be good music, but the mainstream certainly has been destroyed by celebrity culture...

The upcoming album is also gonna be heavily inspired on battlebots:

Trey posted something about polyrythms heard in the robot's dynamics and now he posted this:

Trey:
"BattleBots for me is so inspirational!

Back in the day even before it was on Comedy Central it was so crazy and underground,

then later on Comedy Central the whole design of the show was epically silly, violent and fun.

Also this current season on ABC, I think is really well done and the bots and drivers are so

ridiculously tight and brilliant.
This current season is also on youtube.

BiteForce was so adaptive, aggressive and smooth.

See how he just runs in and and takes it to Tombstone, which is a damn hard hitting bot.

This whole show is so inspiring and I hope ABC continues with it.

All this totally relates to music for me. Wicked grooving drum foundations acting as the arena,

then the 2 bots as like the left and right guitar battling in all kinds of ways.

Variations sure, but mainly extreme panned polyrhythms that not only are so independent of each other as for their shape and movement, but also different keys sometimes which if they are in mono they would sound like mud, but when you hard pan them, then you get this huge dynamic chorusing, melting, tugging and pulling, and even opposing collisions with each other.

Well for me it can be really cool and for sure it is complete acid, rofl.

Anyways, here is a link for this 2015 BattleBots Finale...,

Also the rest of the 2015 season is there, plus tons of the older seasons."

At least he is sounding like his old self again..thus far.

I do wonder if he is referring to polyrhythms or polyphonics? If it is actually polyrhythms then that will be a first for MA
and hopefully it is done in an interesting but MA style. I've personally always been into a mixing MA with other post
DM music like math metal like that project i did. But yea so Beneath the Hollow is more of a polyphonic example.

it sounds like he means to say polyphonics, as this is functionally the exact same quote he gave before heretic came out

We are in the process of finishing writing songs for the new Morbid Angel album. I am pumped up about what we have written and it is great to be back writing music with my bro Trey !

That seems quick by Morbid Angel standards. It's only been 8 months since David's departure and they haven't even done a tour in between. Maybe Trey had some tunes written a year or two before?

Secondly, Morbid Angel has to have the worst marketing strategy of any death metal band on the planet. They were late to the social media bandwagon, where the entire world has shifted, they've lost touch with the new kids because they put out just two albums in 13 years, they have no alternative to low album sales because nobody pays for studio albums anymore, honestly I don't know how they're even making money just touring at smaller and smaller venues.

I think Steve mentioned they already had songs written from a while back. Hopefully they have been refined so it doesn't just sound like H left overs, if they were H left overs..

The lack of marketing, or I'd even go as far to say as...presence(?) makes them the only band I genuinely get excited for still. Sure, I get keen about other releases but with MA albums it's like I'm young again. The silence becomes very intriguing, which I assume they do realize. If that makes sense. It would be hard to compromise for artists as such regarding sales and what might feel like lame grabs at attention on social media.
