Most critics just look for things to dislike. To give the album 0% is proof that reviewer can not be taken seriously on any level. Same goes for the moron saying things like "grow some balls and listen to something exciting once in a while". That is a standard "dumb metal head" thing to say.

I've noticed a lot of reviewers don't really know anything about this band, and are just showing a ton of ignorance. Getting song titles wrong, mispronouncing trey's name, fucking up the bands history, or just stating things as fact that are totally incorrect. Annoying. Like in that last review, Dude said that Trey wrote everything by himself except one song that the other guitarist wrote...idiot.

I don't think Tru.mp has anything to do with dipshit metal reviewers.

Who gives a shit if a "critic" likes it or not? Some are probably teen boys whacking off onto their mom's panties. If you like it, then that's all that matters.

That is a very bizarre interpretation of the role and influence the president supposedly has in the U.S. At the very least anyone who patterns their life (good or bad) based on the behavior of someone simply because they're an elected official obviously has some very serious psychological issues, and shouldn't be taken seriously in the first place.

Agreed.

But I hate that this topic is turning into a politics discussion but what jorsh meant to say, and he already did, is that it's not the president himself but the culture he invokes that creates a certain mindset for people who already had such ways of thinking but are now "okay" with it and use it in their everyday life. Instead of actually thinking "wait, is my behaviour something I should be proud of or should I maybe change some things about myself?".

Many people are sensitive to politics and the culture they represent because they feel it can be part of their lifestyle or even use it as an excuse for their negative behavioural patterns.

And that is basically how religion, paradigms and conditioning works.

I'm pretty sure these people are just fucktards, and would be saying the same shit regardless of who is in office.

And therein lies the rub in taking some reviewers seriously. This and basically what Olden Polynice mentioned.
I'd respect a reviewer's opinion if they demonstrated an understanding of the band, its history, etc. If they showed restraint in what "they think they're supposed to say" i.e. bandwagon thinking. If there is a sense of fairness and balance in what they're saying, they can be taken more seriously. Using K as the perfect example: there is something authentic and classic about these new songs, and they express a genuine morbid angel as opposed to some other album (ahem, "I") but there are issues with its production. This would be a balanced approach. Not bashing the entire thing and pretending there is nothing to be lauded about it. That, along with their said ignorance, tells us any one opinion of theirs is invalid.

Nowadays, I think those metal archive reviewers are nothing more than kids who like to look at everything bad about a band then gets really pissed when you crack a joke about their recently fallen hero, Chester Bennington.
