i didn't think the video was very good, the budget seemed super low. wish we could have seen some shots of the band

ah, I was going to post about that. Yep. Typical to have multiple versions (typically at the mastering stage) these days for different platforms. Funny how the volume inhibiting/standards of digital streaming platforms force better mixes/masters. Since the overall loudness is lower for YT, level matching the CD track at -4.4 dB allows you to hear that the YT one, at least to me, is not just different but better.

Yep--the guitars are less muddy and the kicks don't overwhelm.

The Hellraiser type parts are good for a laugh. The cheesy parts are passable and interesting. Suits the song well enough. It would be interesting to know what kind of budget they were working with.

lol no you aren't going crazy

question remains then, were the official CD tracks dessimated in mixing or mastering? 99.99% of the time, different versions for this purpose are done in mastering.
