He's very boring on stage, has no charisma and only sends out an arrogant attitude. Really dislike him as a bandmember. His solo's aren't much good either, vaguely trying to imitate Erik Rutan but fails miserably at it.
I wasn't a big fan of Thor either but atleast he had his own style and was a nice hard-on bearer. Even Tony was cool on stage, awesome metal attitude and great playing.

you know, part of me sometimes wished that hate eternal never existed so that erik would be with MA full-time until today
vahmpy, this is all your fault for starting hate eternal

I'm glad Rutan followed his own path, with his studio and all. The records he has produced are true gems for the most part.

i'm particularly fond of the fact that erik rutan/mana recording is basically the scott burns/morrisound recording of today

i will always think of vadimvon as the moron he was back when he joined mabb before he was in the band ... it was kind of hilarious when he actually joined, like in a wtf way, but then MA was very much already wtf with illud and everything
i guess that was pre-2009 and we don't have any posts from that era

mm yeah a bit, he kept trying to foist really ugly pseudo fan art upon us, and talked up his connections with trey, it was a bit laughable. then he joined the band

i remember when he posted the link to one of the first iterations of the new MA website...man, that was a mess

he also had some buddies that joined who talked about how great of a hard-on bearer he was. I remember one saying something like "he'd give you the shirt off his back!"

Yea, those were the days when crap like how the MA website was designed used to be a big deal to us. I remember making a big fuss out of Vadimvon's promotion of his own branded content above the band's on the website, even wrote a complaint to Trey on Myspace about that which he acknowledged and resultantly made Vadimvon take down the changes on the MA website. We never liked the dude and he never liked us.

I remember all of the above. I guess the latest thing that highlighted his shittiness was:
Solar Guitars came out with a Morbid Angel signature guitar sometime last year or so... Which turned out was Dan Vadim Von's signature guitar. Imo someone like that doesn't deserve to have a marketed instrument, he's essentially hired help and probably a few of us hardonbearers here are better players. I haven't ever encountered anyone who is a 'fan' of Vadim Von. I wonder how many of those guitars they actually even sold.
...anyways, turns out he soon dropped Ola in favour of Ibanez when offered some guitars from them. No loyalty, only self interest. I heard some similar stories since. Doucher.

i will never forget the time that vadim von posted here while posing as a vadim von superfan and challenged me to a fight because i said rude things about vadim von's shitty artwork and we both lived in south carolina at the time

he also gratuitously employed the eyecandy filter suite in his designs, which was already gauche when every photoshop hack (like myself) downloaded it off of random warez sites in 1998
He plays ok live, I did see him mess up once, Steve literally laughed about it on stage. I met him before the show, last time I saw them, it was a very weird encounter.
I was at the San Francisco show in 2019 when Morbid Angel toured with Cannibal Corpse on the Decibel tour. Erik was in Cannibal, filling in for Pat. Me and some other fans were there early. The Cannibal Corpse guys were awesome, hanging out with us, signing autographs, taking pictures.
Dan Vadim Von seemed like he didn't want to talk to anyone. I still said hi to him, he said hi back but he sort of grumbled it, he looked pissed off about something

lots of tony footage in this vid i thought he was a good fit. i also liked thor a lot. vadim's presence doesn't do much for me, he's completely capable and what not but doesn't have a lot of personality on stage. but also i guess these guys are starting to get old so what can you really ask for

The thing I love about Tony is, you can clearly tell the hard-on bearer enjoy/loves playing the songs as he probably is a fan just like ourselves.
Also, I feel his style compliments Trey's playing.
