i don't typically associate emperor with the whole symphonic end of the spectrum, but classification-nitpicking aside, emperor absolutely destroys every band on this poll

Although...Old Man's Child had one phenomenal album, In Defiance of Existence. It's some of the densest fucking music I've ever heard, and so atmospheric. It makes Dimmu look retarded as fuck.

old mans child´s - In The Shades Of Life is one of the forming black metal releases in my childhood. Still sounds awesome to me today. To bad everything else they did either sounds like disco black metal or bubblegum metal.

Emperor is probably the only "symphonic" black metal band that i like, and thats really just one cd.
