I Myself are a huge 1976 - 84 (mostly British) Punk fan.

77 Punk, U.K.82, Oi!, D-beat, Hardcore-Punk etc.

I thought i dedicate a topic about Punk.



Too start off: The Ruts

Lately i'm allot into the London Punk band The Ruts between 1977 - 80 they made some awesome Punk, till singer Malcolm Owen died on a Heroin overdose in 1980

Songs are mostly about: Stand up from the getto, agains racism, against the upper class, against heroin abuse (huge problem in the 70's and 80's) etc.

Anthrax were an anarcho punk band formed in Gravesend, Kent, England in 1980.

English Ultra Violent a U.K. 82 Punk outfit.

Not well known about this outfit, only that the singer went to the English dogs in 1984.

Also this song from 1980 from the London based Poison Girls with prouberly the oldest punk ever the in 1935 born singer VI Subversa.

Don't take the slide show too serious(some crazy anarchist made it) but the song is awesome.

The real original Misfits take the cake for me. I also like me some old Black Flag, Minor Threat, the Sex Pistols a little bit, a bunch of others. I also like some of the hardcore-punk stuff that came out of California, like Suicidal Tendencies, DRI, and the bay area shit like Dead Kennedys and Blatz. I got my start in this shit but I don''t listen to it much any more.

ive been trying to get more into punk but like everything else theres a lot of shit to wade through and i dont know where to start. could you just post a list of some bands to check out? i like bands like the English Dogs and surf punk like Agent Orange or bands like Crawlspace. i also like some d-beat.
