blue oyster cult - fire of unknown origin, first pressing for $8!
edit- sounds amazing compared to the digital versions, which always sounded really thin and weak to me. that was the only real fault i ever found with this album, on vinyl it's damn near perfect
also, on closer inspection this seems to be the 1984 reissue.

picked up ein herr new godspeed this morning
jesus, these guys really go all out with their presentation/packaging. 180G 12" + 7", gatefold action, nice big fold-out poster, and bitchin' quality on everything, all for a mere $20 after tax and shit. that's cheaper than some of the single 12" LP's i've bought, which leads me to assume the margins on a lot of contemporary vinyl releases are positively obscene.

oh, i also forgot to mention it comes with one of those download coupons as well. not that i really care about that since i already have the leak, but it's nice for people who aren't comfortable with pirating stuff.
you should really listen to this album, it's fucking amazing. i've probably listened to it 30 times by now, without question my top pick for AOTY (although converge isn't far behind).
how's the new soundgarden?

Re: Music Haul
I dig the new sg a bit. that been away too long is the worst track on the album. Theres a pop track towards the end but other than that, its pretty good imo. Tracks 3-9 and 11-12 are all solid.
I think it deserves one fair listen, you never know. A few tracks sound like vintage sg to me (bones of birds, taree and a thousand days before).

with seam splits in both inner and outer sleeves my shitty turntable throws a fit at this disc as well, doesn't seem to get along with heavyweight editions in general. gonna have to start putting some money aside here and there to upgrade it in the near future

The only thing after Aion I've heard is the live album Toward The Within, which I have and which is ::;;;;
You are 100% correct about the 80s material.

hey jorsh, what'd you think of that DCD album?
haven't bought anything recently, i've had the new converge vinyl on order for a month now but it still hasn't shipped. the plant they contracted to do the pressing delayed all of their clients' projects to do the current wave of beatles reissues, seems they're still not caught up on the backlog
