hmm, i am reluctant to commit to hard and fast bests, but i will happily concede he is one of the most important/influential guitarists in death metal. that seems a no-brainer

if it comes down to crowning an absolute king shit of fuck mountain though, he's not trey

anyway this seems like a perfectly serviceable suffocation tune, but it doesn't excite me like the old stuff does. i think largely because frank sounds plainly enervated, here. i don't know if that's a product of the performance or the production, but it drains a lot of the power out of their sound

i had a similar feeling, as if frank was lacking some power behind the vocals, they also sound a little low in the mix. i was actually hoping they would feature their touring vocalist on the album AND i was hoping that kevin talley would be the drummer but whoever they have now sounds pretty good.

it is a good track though, suffocation doing what they do best.
