Why is doom metal so popular lately?

why aren't they just listening to EDM and nightfall instead of whatever this new stuff that's all the rage & yet not as good as those albums

Because there are no real new genres anymore and everyone is just rehashing specific styles from specific periods and calling it their thing.

and i saw that article the other day, i think doomed and stoned shared it

but i don't really care about the reason why, and also 95% of all writing related to heavy metal music is terrible

so i didn't read it then and i shan't read it now
