Ever flown/driven cross-country to see a single gig?
Seriously tempted to grab a $200 plane ticket to see the DDR 8th anniversary gig. It feels weird paying 10x the ticket cost for travel.

Furthest I've gone would be the few times I drove to Atlanta (about 5 hours). One time while on vacation in the official city of the chicago cubs I caught a Satyricon gig but that was more a "hey they are playing while I'm in town" kind of thing.

haven't, wanted to for neurosis' 30th but a few days' stay in SF is a large multiple of the cost to actually get there. at this point i think the only thing that i would drop everything and travel anywhere in the US for is an ulver date, but they'll never play here so it's all moot anyway.

Welp, I got my plane tickets to Denver. Dark descent 8th anniversary gig, Blood Incantation/Spectral Voice(release party)/Grave Ritual/Ascended Dead. Woot.
I'd definitely drop everything cold for a Manowar and a Priest show.
They were slated for MDF but they canceled.Hitoshura wrote:haven't, wanted to for neurosis' 30th but a few days' stay in SF is a large multiple of the cost to actually get there. at this point i think the only thing that i would drop everything and travel anywhere in the US for is an ulver date, but they'll never play here so it's all moot anyway.

There was the time I took a long haul coach ride to Munich to see Belphegor/Kataklysm and also meet up with Anomander
Also a train to paris for Krisiun/Nile
Hopefully will get to see Morbid Angel in Glasgow this November
Not being near any decent venues makes this quite a necessity

About 250 miles but can get a direct train of just over 3 hours if lucky.

I did do a Wembley show once, staying the night at a city hostel. I go to London on a when it is the only choice basis, but would do so again I imagine if the event looked worth it
