maudlin of the well

Post by jawn galliano »

or maybe more familiar as their present incarnation, kayo dot

i have been getting back into these dudes in a major way lately. they were originally a prog metal sort of outfit, except not, and then they broke up and became kayo dot. eventually they came back under the motw banner with a final album which shed most of the metal trappings and was good as hell

some bitchin' tunes on the heavier side from the more metal oriented days

this one is their final tune, closing out their spacey comeback album that came out in 2009

you can download the last album for free from their website in a variety of formats, i was surprised to find they're still hosting it :alien:

not a lot of live material out there for motW, but someone finally compiled and uploaded the progwest set from the very end of their initial run. choirs of the eye came out the following year.

this whole nexus has become one of my favorite-ever bands over the last five years

Kayo Dot and Toby's solo works are some of my favourites of all time.

There's this under-rated song by Kayo that has huge Twin Peaks vibes.
