here it is distant, with turntable, synthesizer, and record storage. cds are on the shelf over yonder, and also in several binders scattered throughout ein room and car
setup.jpg
i really need to reposition the amp, but then i'd need to recut the speaker cabling and i sard the shit out of doing that

awkward setup will remain in place until i move :judge:

Marantz amp
Marantz CD/DVD player
Philips turntable (vintage - sounds pretty darn good but saving for a Tecnics)
Paradigm two-way hifi speakers

My speakers are on small corner pads to absorb vibrations. Never have problems with the needle.

Extremely happy with this setup. Image

aint no ballast in them boxes

just added box #15 to the tower last week, it's still going strong. i reckon i can get it up to at least 18 before it starts getting tilty. probably even higher if i sorted the boxes to get the biggest ones at the base :bulb:

that's probably gonna be the last one for a while, i need other kinds of clothes now :homework:

no monies/space for a better table where I can keep them separate.

Despite this however, maxed out volume and EQ results in no skippage except with my very old, bassy-sounding worn out copy of sabbath's vol. 4.

My stereo is not very loud with vinyl :(

i was gonna say that actually looks like a pretty clean setup, aside from the speaker placement which is completely out of control

also you wouldn't normally have to worry about skips with a shared surface (unless you have like a 12" sub positioned next to it), it's more an issue of vibration interfering with/degrading signal quality since outside forces are acting on the needle as it goes through the grooves

probably not a huge deal at normal volumes, but all the same it's a good idea to isolate the two in some fashion or another

Speakers are placed differently, I was watching tv earlier today so I had to move them aside.

My players just been collecting dust for the last year or so as I pretty much only listen to music through the laptop these days. A lazy December Sunday afternoon is a good excuse for a rummage through the old vinyl connection though. I hope the neighbours appreciate :cigar:
